THE wool revolutioN

DESIGNING A NEW FUTURE FOR NEW ZEALAND WOOL.

We believe a healthier and regenerative planet is everyone’s responsibility. We’re on a mission to reimagine the possibilities of wool and natural fibres, and replace synthetic plastics as part of the solution.

The Wool Revolution Studio believe we can design a new future for New Zealand Wool. Through creative workshops, and the transformational process of felting and weaving natural fibres, we are creating contemporary designs that transform spaces – and lives.

Wool’s versatility, beauty and value make it one of the best fibres in the world. It is regenerative, recyclable, non-allergenic, temperature regulating, sound and moisture-absorbing, flame-resistant, durable, and biodegradable.

New Zealand strong wool is an untapped resource that can be transformed into tactile products perfect for the world’s built environment, but has been forgotten – replaced by synthetic fibres and plastics that pollute our world.

campaign for wool NZ

As an Ambassador for Campaign for Wool NZ, Aotearoa’s brand of the global endeavour initiated in 2010 by the former Prince of Wales, we are working together to create a secure, regenerative future for New Zealand strong wool. Backed by science and lead by community, Campaign for Wool promotes the functionality and technical performance of wool fibre, and its benefits for the delicate ecosystem of our planet.

We believe the relationship between wool and design in New Zealand can be one of circularity, creative craftsmanship and human connection.

pledge me campaign

In 2023, Liz established a PledgeMe campaign to assist funding the Wool Revolution Studio. The money pledged became the backbone of the development, supported us to secure the textile machinery, materials and resources required. The PledgeMe support meant we could continue to research and craft wool-based homewares, run educational event and get our community excited about wool again.
